- Understand how
management approaches problems, issues and decisions.
- Confirm management's
representations and the investor's own perceptions regarding the company's
technology and market opportunity.
- Identify key
vulnerabilities and risks so that the risks can be quantified and
mitigated by strategy, planning, human resources and capital.
- Gain an intimate
understanding of the company and its market so that as a partner, we are
prepared to counsel management to anticipate and manage change.
Once our investment is made, we, together
with our network of specialists will assist management where we can add
value. In addition to participating on the company's Board of Directors as a
shareholder representative, we will assist the company in the areas of
strategy, technology, business development and financial engineering, and
become involved in or take on individual projects where we can contribute to
the company's growth and success.
During critical periods, we take direct
responsibility for results in the areas of acquisitions and strategic
alliances, finance, administration, marketing, sales, product development/strategy
and strategic planning.
Our goal is to be active but never get in the
way as we strive to add value.
